Natural Features in Wood
Colors are affected by different features of the wood like density and grain and will vary between doors, drawer fronts, and face frames.
Hairline cracks, especially around the hardware and joints, appear more visible on painted products. These features may become more noticeable as cabinets age due to the natural expansion and contraction of wood that occurs during seasonal temperature changes.
Smoke and low ventilation areas can change color and appearance of painted cabinetry drastically.
